Malaga

Malaga are one of the most historical Andalusian football clubs. They also won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2002. They are under the ownership of Lorenzo Sanz, a former Real Madrid president, since 2006.


Mallorca

Real Mallorca were first founded in 1916 as Alfonso XIII Football Club. They took up their present name "Real Club Deportivo Mallorca" from 1948.

This club is named after the ancient Celtiberian town of Numantia near present-day Soria. Numancia were founded on April 9, 1945.


Osasuna

Osasuna were a result of the union between Sportiva and New Club in 1920. Benjamin Andoian Martinez was the one who chose “Osasuna” as the name of the new club, a Basque word which means health, cheers, and vitality.

Real Club Recreativo de Huelva were formed on December 23, 1889 making them the oldest football team in Spain. The club was formed by Dr Alexander Mackay and overseas British workers at the Rio Tinto mines.


Sevilla

Sevilla are perhaps the biggest threat to the La Liga dominance of Real Madrid and Barca. They are also a club that's owned by the fans, with the stocks distributed across a few major holders and a large base of fans.


Sporting Gijon

Known as the Rojiblancos because of their red and white striped jerseys, their home field is El Molinon stadium, the oldest professional football field in Spain. It's been in use since 1908.


Valencia

Valencia are the third most popular football team in Spain, only behind Real Madrid and Barca. Sadly they are currently afflicted by financial problems and stand to lose their star players every season.


Valladolid

Real Valladolid were formed when both Real Union Deportiva de Valladolid and Club Deportivo Espanol were combined in 1928.


Villarreal

The Yellow Submarine were founded on 10th March 1923, “in order to promote all sports, and specifically football”, as was specified in its founding letter. Villarreal are nicknamed El Submarino Amarillo (the Yellow Submarine) because of their yellow strip.
